<What is it to be human?> This is indeed an interesting question. Human beings, capable of independent thought and of discovering themselves through others, are born into this world, live temporally in physical bodies, experience emotions, and return to the soil. The male and female genders woven into the fabric of time add beauty to the human experience as the drama of life unfolds.
The underlying theme of my work focuses on the expression of the sorrow and fate experienced by humanity. Reviewers often categorized my work into the style of Sur Realism or Fantastic Realism that developed in Vienna after World War II; however, I would rather call my works Fantastic Expressionism because they were created with an emphasis on expression utilizing fantastic forms, which I believe to be the ideal form for the expression of anxiety in modern times. I use reincarnations and transmigrations in many of my works, not to express religious meaning but as an oasis of freedom from the strong anxieties felt by a humanity who has lost its way in modern times.
